SHREDDINGS PART 2: SO WHAT?

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA

:: This second installation in a 3-part series seeks to challenge the viewer's understanding of the materials as "consumptive" or "wasteful", and asks them to consider a more significant and vital meaning and intent of this term.

:: The installation was held between April 23 - May 15, 2007, at the Museum of Design, Art + Architecture in Culver City.

:: Clusters of paper colums as abstract trees formed a "forest" in the gallery that visitors could walk among to catch glimpses of shredded construction drawings, newspapers, and product catalogs.

:: All of the paper was sent to Vermipro, to become "starter" worm food for vermicomposting.

:: A short film "So What?", which chronicled the planning and implementation of the firm's art installation in 2007, received a National Communications Honor Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects.
